2) Press Release: "Field Study at BPKP East Java"
Wednesday, February 5, 2025 – Students of the Development Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta, conducted a field study at the Representative Office of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) of East Java. This visit aimed to deepen their understanding of state financial management and the role of BPKP in public financial oversight.

During this activity, students received a direct presentation from Mr. Wahyudi Wicaksono, SST Akt., MA, MSE, QRMA, a Junior Expert Auditor at BPKP East Java. He provided a comprehensive explanation of an overview of state financial management. The material covered BPKP's role in government internal supervision, the mechanisms of state and regional financial management, and the importance of transparency and accountability in public financial administration.
Additionally, the interactive discussion session offered deeper insights into the challenges and strategies for maintaining good governance in state financial management.

3) The Victory of Rodhiah Umaroh

Rodhiah Umaroh, a lecturer in the Department of Economics Development, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UPN "Veteran" Yogjakarta, successfully secured 3rd place in the 2024 Jogja Economic Forum (JEF) competition. This event, initiated by Bank Indonesia's Regional Office for the Special Region of Jogjakarta (DIY), is a call-for-papers competition aimed at encouraging strategic and innovative thinking in the region's economy.
The culmination of JEF 2024 took place on August 8, 2024, at Hotel Tentrem, Jogjakarta, where Rodhiah Umaroh was announced as the 3rd place winner in the Doctoral Student category. Her paper captured the attention of the judges with its in-depth analysis of optimizing Jogjakarta's economic potential in contributing to national economic resilience and recovery. The competition was participated in by 220 entrants from various institutions, and through a rigorous selection process, Rodhiah's paper made it into the top 5 finalists in her category.
The 2024 Jogja Economic Forum, themed "Driving Jogjakarta's Economy to Contribute to National Economic Resilience and Recovery," is a joint initiative by the Jogjakarta Regional Office of Bank Indonesia, the Jogjakarta Regional Government, and the Indonesian Economists Association (ISEI) Jogjakarta Branch. This event aims to generate research-based policy recommendations that can be implemented by the DIY Regional Government to enhance the regional economy.
The Jogja Economic Forum (JEF) 2024 reaffirms the crucial role of research and innovation in driving regional economic growth and highlights the importance of synergy between academia, government, and the private sector in realizing a resilient and sustainable economic vision.
