Thursday, January 9, 2025 – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) collaborated with the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), to initiate a joint lecture program involving international students from Greece, India, and China, as well as several Indonesian students from Tanjungpura University, Yogyakarta Technology University, BINUS University, and Sanata Dharma University Yogyakarta.
One of the agendas of this joint lecture program was a visit to FEB's foster village, Tebing Breksi in Sleman. During the visit, the inbound students received an explanation about the historical background of the development of Tebing Breksi, particularly from an economic perspective. This was followed by a discussion on the progress and transformations that have occurred, turning Tebing Breksi into a popular tourist destination. A concrete example of this development is the implementation of a more professional management system, which has led to the creation of several new tourist attractions. A crucial factor supporting this development has been the improved management performance and financial accountability managed by the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes).
At the end of the visit, the students were given the opportunity to take photos at Tebing Breksi tourist site and observe firsthand the attractions as well as the direct economic impact on the lives of the Sambirejo village community.
